jughead

so one thing inspired by the premiere:

symbolism-tastic- locke seems to be set up as a christ-like savior. richard tells locke that he must die. ben believes that, in order to save everyone, they have to bring locke back to the island and (there's clearly the assumption) he will be brought back to life as a result (resurrected). also found it interesting that all of the time stamps used in the episode were three years...three years, three days- what's the difference in lost time

jughead

thought it was very telling when daniel warned richard that "all of us are going to die, all of us" i wonder who he is alluding to as immortal- himself or richard or are they both in the same circumstance.

Teresa Spencer's sister reminded me an awful lot of butcher lady.

the whole reveal that young soldier boy is really young charles widmore makes me wonder where richard's loyalties lie- with charles or ben.

this season is reminding me of season 1 a bit. we're quickly being introduced to people who are all interconnected in fascinating, yet confusing, ways and the fun is trying to guess how they fit together. and just like at the beginning of the series, we know that the writers are in on it and are going to have fun revealing the completed puzzle to the audience.

Thoughts from this week's episode:

interesting.. the white haired lady that I think is faraday's mom (the lady at the end of last week in the church with ben)... her name is eloise (same name as faraday's time traveling rat) is the lady that captures them and takes them to the camp.. her name was elly
back in 1954
and the original hatch locke finds in season 1 is where they buried the h bomb in they find in this episode..

Faraday tells the 1954 others to bury it and surround it with concrete...

When Sayid is examining the original hatch in season 2.. he notices that something has been covered by several feet of concrete and says the last time he heard of something like that was Chernobyl...

showdown

last year, the washington post had their own march madness (not sure what month it was) where fans voted for their favorite characters and each week half were eliminated. the winner was desmond.

well, ahh shizzle, check this out: lost showdown . ABC copied the concept and set up their own brackets with the "best" scenes from each season going head to head. turns out they're already into the elite eight.

season one:
the crash vs. opening the hatch

season two:
the swan station map vs. desmond turns the key

season three:
we have to go back vs. charlie's sacrifice

season four:
desmond's call vs. ben moves the island (i have a HUGE issue with the ones they picked for this season- I'll add my thoughts on it later)

namaste

so i wanted to start a blog where a small group of my friends (and their friends) who happen to be lost fanatics can move their IM chats/gmail chats/email discussions to one centralized place. that's my only thought going into this. if it morphs into something else, so be it.

the fifth season started last night...thoughts?
